INTEGRATIVE SCALP AND HAIR RESEARCH GRANT 2025
Thank you for your interest in the Vichy Scalp and Hair Research Grant (hereinafter the “Research Grant”) organized by COSMETIQUE ACTIVE INTERNATIONAL, a company incorporated under the laws of France, with a share capital of 18 630 Euros, with its registered office located in Vichy (03200) at 28 rue du Président Wilson, and the administrative headquarter based in Levallois sur Seine (92300) at 62, quai Charles Pasqua, registered in the Trade and Companies Register of Cusset under the number 350 760 559 (hereinafter “CAI”), acting for its brand Vichy (hereinafter the “Brand”).
Please, read these Terms and Conditions carefully, which govern your participation to the Research Grant. By participating in the Research Grant, the applicant unconditionally accepts and agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions will be accessible at www.researchgrants-vichylaboratoires.com/application/termsandconditions throughout the duration of the Research Grant. - RESEARCH GRANT DESCRIPTION
The Research Grant welcomes a broad range of topics, including but not limited to the following:
- The impact of environmental factors on scalp and hair health (UV, pollution)
- Impact of lifestyle factors on scalp and hair health (exercise, smoking, sleep)
- Impact of hormones on scalp and hair health
- Impact of use of devices on scalp and hair health
- Innovative epidemiological studies
- Clinical studies on investigational products
The Research Grant consists in a €25,000 grant to support one (1) impactful laboratory-based or clinical research project focus on integrative skin health.
Participation and submission of 2025 Applications can take place from February 20th to May 30th, inclusive. All submissions must be received by 11:59 PM [CET] on the end date.
Participation in the Research Grant is entirely free of charge and without a purchase obligation.
- TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
2.1. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The Research Grant is open to MDs and / or PhDs (including Academic Dermatologists, Dermatologists in Hospital/Private Practice, Physicians Specializing in Trichology, Researchers) who are authorized by their local ethical code of conduct and by the entity they belong to (i.e., university or research center), and who have legal capacity and reside in one of the following countries:

2.2. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Your application (hereinafter the “Application”) must include:
- Curriculum vitae : Should contain: name, business address with telephone number and email address, education and training, current and past professional positions, list of most important publications in the past five years. No more than 3 pages.
- The application form correctly filled.
- The published paper, or the accepted paper and the letter of acceptance from the publisher
CAI is not responsible for errors applicants’ entries, site malfunctions, incorrect e-mail addresses, or connection problems related to the Research Grant.
2.3. GENERAL PROVISIONS
- Applications must be written in English;
- Applications must consist of ongoing or planned research projects in the field of integrative scalp and hair health
- Applications may include research projects on integrative scalp and hair health health, as impacted by environmental, lifestyle, and hormonal factors;
- Applications may address aspects that are relevant to fundamental and/or clinical science;
- Applications may be conducted in any hospital, university, or other not-for-profit research institution;
- Applications related to projects that are completed will not be considered;
- Application will not be considered if they involve animal research or children below the age of six; and
- The jury cannot accept unclear Applications or Applications where information is missing.
Each applicant authorizes CAI and, more generally, the L’Oréal Group, to use their name, country, and primary application information (including the title and abstract of their research project) on a dedicated webpage (https://www.lorealdermatologicalbeauty.com/). This webpage is part of the Vichy Grants Alumni Community, which gathers all applicants’ research projects to foster a community of Vichy Grants applicants and provide an opportunity for applicants to connect and collaborate on common research projects.
The Research Grant may be used as additional funding. If so, it may be exclusively granted in combination with public funding. Research projects will not be eligible if they are partially funded, directly or indirectly, through any private company involved in the pharmaceutical, medical, or cosmetic field (including any competitor of CAI or any company involved in dermocosmetics research).
Applicants must abstain from using any participation methods that do not comply with these Terms and Conditions. Submitting incorrect or misleading information, disregarding these Terms and Conditions, or adopting wrongful behavior will lead to the refusal or disqualification of participation. Any attempted or established fraud, or any unfair action shall entail the Applicant’s immediate and final disqualification, without prior notice.
Each applicant warrants that the content of their Applications is original and do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, neighboring rights, or image rights of any third party. Each applicant agrees to indemnify CAI against any claim, complaint and/or action by third parties, of any nature whatsoever.
If CAI discovers, either before or after the applicant has been selected as the winner of the Research Grant, that the content is plagiarized, the Applicant will be disqualified. If the grant amount has already been disbursed, the Applicant must refund the grant amount to CAI. Additionally, the Applicant and their team will be banned from participating in any future grants organized by CAI for the Brand, and CAI will select the second-best application as the new Awardee of the Grant.
- ORGANIZATION OF THE RESEARCH GRANT AND AWARD
The jury will select the Application with the best assessment as the winning Application, and the individual or team responsible for this Application will be designated as the sole awardee of the Research Grant (hereinafter the “Awardee”). The jury is composed of prominent researchers and dermatology professors. The following criteria are considered by the jury for the purpose of evaluating the Application:
Nature of project
- Project topic: relevance for integrative scalp and hair health research
- Focus on the impact of environmental, lifestyle, and hormonal factors, scalp and hair health
- Originality of the research
- Scientific quality of the research and methodology
Feasibility of project
- Research location & equipment
- Regulatory status, according to local regulatory and ethics policy
- Level of funding to be able to complete the research project
- Schedule: planning of project launch and planning of result publication
Quality of the application
- Clarity of project aims
- Clarity of information provided, including regulatory & ethical status
- Overall quality of the presentation of the project
Experience of applicant
- Scientific expertise of applicant (based on previous publication) and team involved in the project
- Ability to conduct the research project
- Experience or background on skin research
Global mark for the project
- Relevance
- Potential to advance knowledge on & understanding of integrative skin health
A participant working with or in the same department as a jury member, will not be assessed by this jury member to avoid any conflict of interest.
The decision of the jury, based on the assessment criteria, is final and shall not be contested.
The Application selected by the jury will be awarded a €25,000 grant by CAI (hereinafter the “Award”). The Award is personal, non-transferable and cannot be awarded to anyone other than the selected applicant. Indirect costs are excluded from the scope of the Research Grant.
The Award must be used to accomplish the research project as described in the Application within a period of three (3) years. To ensure proper use of the funds, CAI reserves the right to conduct an annual review at its discretion to confirm that publications related to the research project are being produced within this timeframe.
The applicant understands and agrees that the above-mentioned financial amount will be transferred from CAI to the university and/or entity they are affiliated with, to finance the awarded research project. The applicant commits to inform accordingly the university and/or in particular from his/her professional governing body and/or entity they are affiliated with, and to get their respective consent to facilitate such process. For French applicants, the Research Grant must obtain the prior approval of the CNOM (Conseil National de l’Ordre des Médecins) and/ or CNOP (Conseil National de l’Ordre des Pharmaciens). The Award will not be transferred to the applicant until such approval is obtained. In the event that such approval is not obtained, the applicants are required to inform CAI immediately. The applicants acknowledge and agree that, in such circumstances, CAI reserves the right to select the second-best application.
An official announcement of the Awardee will be made by CAI in September 2025 during EADV Congress. It is hereby specified that the Research Grant is not associated with, managed, or sponsored by the EADV.
The Awardee understands and acknowledges that, as a condition to receive the Award, the Awardee agrees to the following:
- The Awardee must acknowledge “Vichy Laboratoires” as a sponsor in any resulting publications, presentations, or communications related to the project.
- The Awardee is required to share the project’s abstract and ongoing progress updates with L’Oréal Research & Innovation (R&I) teams. This information will be used to explore potential collaboration opportunities to further support the project.
Failure to comply with these conditions may result in the termination of the grant and the requirement to return the Award to CAI.
- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
When submitting any project, each Applicant guarantees to CAI that they are the owner and/or holder of the Intellectual Property Rights regarding all or part of the creations contained in the project and that they have obtained all rights and permissions regarding all pre-existing creations and any elements of the project for which they do not hold the relevant rights. Each Applicant guarantees (i) that their contribution is original and unprecedented and (ii) that it does not infringe upon the copyright or any Intellectual Property Rights of any third party.
CAI cannot be held liable for any infringement of the above provisions by the Applicants. Each Applicant shall indemnify CAI against any disturbance, action, claim, opposition, demand, or eviction attempt from any third party in connection with any creation in the project (Intellectual Property Rights included).
Applicants are prohibited from any direct and/or indirect contact with the media and from using CAI’s name, logo, and trademarks. The concepts, content, look-and-feel, logo, and all other graphic elements, and organization of the Research Grant are and will remain the sole property of CAI.
- PERSONNAL DATA
The personal data collected for the Applicant’s participation to the Research Grants will be listed in the Applicable Privacy Policy.
The Organizer undertakes to adopt all useful measures to preserve the safety of the data and to prevent it from being communicated to unauthorized third parties.
Applicants may exercise their rights of access, rectification and opposition to data collection and processing by sending a written request to the Organizer at: [email protected]
- LIABILITY
CAI shall be liable for the delivery of the Prize actually and validly won, as well as the collection of the personal data.
It is hereby expressly specified that the Internet is not a secure network. CAI shall not be held liable for any inconvenience or damage that may relate to the use of the Internet, including, without limitation:
- Poor transmission and/or reception of any data and/or information via the Internet;
- Any defaulting reception equipment or communication networks; and
- Any such Internet malfunctions as may hinder the proper operation of the Research Grant.
CAI shall not be held liable in case of force majeure or unpredictable events beyond its control caused by a third-party. Further, CAI shall not be held liable for any consequences affecting the applicant participation in the Research Grant if any information provided by you is incorrect, inaccurate, or incomplete and, in any event, CAI shall not be held liable for any indirect damage related to your participation in the Research Grant, including, without limitation, any loss of profit, revenue or goodwill.
Should exceptional circumstances so require, CAI reserves the right to postpone, shorten, extend, modify, cancel or suspend the Research Grant. In such case, we shall inform you promptly via the website : www.researchgrants.vichy.com.
- CLAIMS
If any clause herein is declared null or void, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining Terms and Conditions.
Any disputes, questions, and/or claims relating to the Research Grant must be submitted no later than fifteen (15) days after the announcement of the winners.
All disputes, questions, and/or claims must be sent in English to the Organizer by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the following address, mentioning “Vichy Research Grants”: [email protected].
- GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by French law.
In the event of any dispute or claim, for any reason whatsoever, applications shall be sent to the Organizer within two (2) months following the closing date of the Game (as evidenced by the postmark) at: COSMETIQUE ACTIVE INTERNATIONAL, Levallois sur Seine (92300) at 62, quai Charles Pasqua.
Any dispute that may arise in connection with this Grant shall be referred to the French courts of competent jurisdiction.
